Sandstone sculpture, \'Sri Goddess with Lotus\'

Beautiful and demure, Goddess Sri looks on with kindness in her eyes as she blesses Bali\'s rice fields. Married to Lord Vishnu, the God of Sustenance, effigies of Sri are seen throughout Bali\'s fields as people bring her offerings in return for a good harvest. For centuries, Sri has blessed Bali with good crops thrice a year. Wayan Kandiyasa carves her sandstone image with sublime artistry and astounding detail. Sri delicately holds a lotus flower in her hands as a symbol of fertility.
